These things happen - Natasha has done the evening and late news before you know..

It's hardly annual leave either, on no Friday do they have four different presenters for the national evening and late bulletins. So it's not that big a deal if three out of the five main presenters are not on duty. Every Friday is like it, be it Mark and Mary, Mary and James, Natasha and Marsh, Julie and Alastair or even James and Julie presenting.

Well they might not plan it that way, but how do you know Mark and Julie hadn't booked time off, but then Mary developed tooth ache today and had to take a day off?! For God's sake, there are hundreds of reasons why a person might be off work - why does it need to be discussed on a TV presentation forum?! Rolling Eyes

I, of course, didn't see it. But it sounds like quite a good team for News at Ten, IMO. Natasha and Alastair.

And, let's not forget either that Alastair has been presenting News at Ten for almost thirty years! So, I think he may just about qualify to stand in for Mark Austin.

For once I'm glad Alastair and Natasha are getting paired together more often, I used to like it when it was Mary and Alastair all the time, but Natasha and Alastair seem to work very well together, and hopefully this continues.

Good grief, I didn't know she was still kicking about! She's certainly aged well. Last I knew she was working for CNN in Washington.

Wikipedia suggests she left there in 2001 and is now a vice president of a company - think the World News America thing was a one-off cover, she's not done it since that week.
