Daisy McAndrew has just tweeted that she has a new job on the Lunchtime News on Tuesday. Is she taking over as presenter?

I really hope not, there are so many more presenters that are better. I hate to say it but if its true, then Charlene White getting overlook again?

Daisy isn't even that a good a presenter! Faye and Charlene are both far better! Charlene and Faye should present the 1:30 the week there not on the 5:30!!

But I'm shocked Natasha Kaplinsky hasn't got this role if it's a main presenting role, unless Daisy is temporary cover Untill Nina is back?

Was today Natasha's final day then? If it is I'm surprised they haven't kept her on, I wasn't her greatest fan before but I really think she suits ITV News and has come across very well. I'd much rather she stayed and Nina didn't return to the national bulletins.

I really hope it wasn't Natasha's last day, I've actually grown to like her, and dare I say it, actually her and Alastair Stewart are quite a good partnership every time I've seen the 6.30 bulletin.

The problem with somebody like Daisy Is that she hasn't got a job, she may be named as Special Correspondent but her role is next to none. I feel that there are too many reporters at ITV at the moment for the amount of output, people like Sejal Karia, Dammon Green, Neil Connery, Juliett Bremner as well as Geraint Vincent are not Taft essential as specialised correspondent s have essentially pushed them
Out of the reporting line.

Daisy's new role I imagine is just there so that she actually has something to
do.

Interesting wording on Daisy's tweet. she sas she's
presenting the lunchtime news too, to say that is not her only role. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Has Alastair ever done weekends? Mary and Julie have both done 3 days at weekends this year so far.

On another note who done the 5:30 over Easter? Faye did Tue-Thu & Ali Douglas did Fri, but Today and Saturdays?

Ali also presented 5.30 yesterday. Sangeeta Kandola today.

Alastair hasn't presented a weekend for years, IIRC. The last time I remember him present a Sunday was around 2007, when "Moral of the Story" was on air. Alastair would usually present the late news on that day.

Ahh okay! Thanks!

I'm fairly certain Alastair has done the odd weekend news more recently than that. One example is that half-hearted European Election Results thing they did back in 2009, which lasted for only 30 minutes one Sunday evening at 10:30pm. It was half-hearted in as much as they only had one result to announce and then hastily ended the bulletin at 11! He presented the other bulletins that same day too IIRC.

Ha Ha - I remember that bulletin.

Came across more as an after-thought than a proper bulletin but I seem to recall it had some decent graphics ...
