But is it really a promotion? If I remember rightly, Mates was 'Senior Correspondent'. This was the old title they'd created for Mark Austin before he became a full time newsreader. Senior Correspondent was meant to be ITV News' top dog, their paramount correspondent. Now he's Europe Editor - he's just at the same level as the various other editors.
This is more stream-of-consciousness pondering on my part - perhaps this is a promotion. I'm just wondering.

It was indeed Bridgid Nzekwu.
Was it Bridget Nzeku (sorry if surname spelt wrong) who just did the 9.25am bulletin? Missed the start and there was no newscaster credit at the end

Yeah, I missed it and caught the end of it and thought that's not Chrlene! I guess she's just cover, but she never introduced her self! I guess she's doing the 1:30/London Tonight? Charlene should have be on today, she's an odd choice for cover!

Charlene is unwell today and Brigid did the late London and morning news bulletins last night and today do they obviously had kept her on to present the news summary.
