HO
Genuinely, what is wrong with you?
Because I want to see how a certain journalist/newsreader deals with no autocue, that means there is something wrong with me? Thanks.
The way you said it, I think so. You didn't say "She's good at reading the autocue but I wonder if her presenting skills stretch to being able to ad-lib in the case of breaking news or technical failure", or "She's good at reading the autocue but I'd be interested to know what her journalistic credentials are and whether she's capable as a journalist". You said you'd like to see the woman put in a stressful position that proves nothing about her ability as a journalist to test a fairly unfounded hypothesis. By the same logic do you 'want to see a police officer lose the criminal he's arresting to see how fast he can run'? Would you say 'I want the autopilot to fail to see how good a pilot he is'? I have no problem with the theory a newsreader may be an "airhead", but casually hoping or wishing for an unfortunate circumstance to transpire in order to test that theory seems unnecessary and mean-spirited.
Shes good at reading the autocue
but I want the autocue to break during one of her shifts to see how she deals with it
