Anglia (East) Look East
Why didn't the mother get up and take her child out of shot? She just sat there and did nothing.

Because she was being interviewed at the time. The chaos that would have caused would imo have been far far worse than what actually occurred.

My contribution is small but you are welcome.

The kids were not out of control, there were being kids.

Well, there is a time and a place for "kids being kids." I'm afraid this just reminds me of those annoying parents who let their kids run wild in restaurants, on public transport, in bookstores, aboard airplanes, etc.

I don't see the problem at all. The mother was hardly going to scold them live on national television, was she? And I'm sure she was probably nervous enough herself being in a live TV studio without worrying about the children.

Absolutely no harm was done here - and as usual, Alastair was the consummate professional broadcaster that he is. I'm sure that the vast majority of viewers would have seen it as a funny and heartwarming moment - not as a cause of irritation.

Not only are you not the intended audience, but the bulletin was also more informative than your average US news programme.

I don't know. I think you may have misunderstood my usage of "your".
