I really rate Ranvir. Professional, but has that friendly and human approach.

I hope this comment does not offend anyone. I apologise in advance.

Well said. I had the honour of meeting her 10 years ago on the NWT sofa tour. She was so genuine and down to earth unlike Gordon who I found rather abrupt and starting looking at his watch.

Well, in fairness, you were taking your time landing the flight simulator! Wink

At least it beats our Twitter exchanges, which have the "Crapped-On Factor". Laughing

So if were not allowed to talk about mistakes that presenters make, then why are members of the Metropol forum allowed to bitch about other members about this site and the ds site?

What a bunch of hypocrites.

Because it's been decided, for better or worse, that those relative trivialities belong there. I think it's frankly comical that you feel so morally wronged over being told you're over-reacting to something so utterly insignificant.

Just because you CAN say something doesn't mean you SHOULD. Clearly the mods agree, which is why they've wiped that bit of the discussion. If you don't like it, move on - whether to another topic or another site.

ETA: You typed "were" rather than "we're" at the start of your post. See... we're all human!

I happened to have ITV on in the background whilst working today as the big news broke today and ended up sticking with their subsequent coverage. I'm just posting really to praise the efforts of all involved in that News Special for once again showing how fantastic they are, given the sudden and surprising nature of which this news broke.

I thought Nina Hossain anchored proceedings superbly and showed just how brilliant and underrated she is as a journalist and news anchor, displaying her a real awareness of political developments in recent days, weeks and months when bringing news and interviewing different correspondents and politicians, presumably off the top of her head as more details were coming out. Though, it will almost certainly be Tom and Julie at the forefront of this coverage, if I were in charge of ITV/ITN, I would choose Nina as the lead anchor on N.A.T and presenting the overnight election coverage. She is a stunningly talented journalist who is criminally underused on the national news imo.

The other noteable contribution was Chris Ship who joined Nina in the studio, given he hasn't covered politics for a few months now since has taken over Royal Editor, he slipped back into it superbly, again still clearly has kept up to date on developments on politics and was able to draw upon his expertise, showing what a loss he has been to ITV's team. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as one of the campaign correspondents, perhaps covering the Conservative Party. I could also see the likes of Geriant Vincent, Allegra Stratton and Juliet Bremner being drawn upon for these roles beyond the political correspondents.
