Well I'm glad the names are changing, so we have uniform names for the bulletins - Lunchtime News, Evening News and Nightly News.

Glad we're going to see some new graphics, the current set is so dull and bordering on tacky. I mean, come on - how many LIVE astons do they need? Rolling Eyes Wink The current set is so easy to change, and I'm sure it will look a lot better with some tweaks.
A "warm" feel with a blue design? How would that work then? I thought that meant a red and orange theme for ITV News, but evidently not. I think they ought to introduce some wood to the studio, it's very bare and boring at the moment. I'm also intrigued by the cryptic, "more people on view" statement too.

Oh well, time will - obviously - tell, just over a month to go now though until the big changes occur.

I know this isnt entirely relevant but has anyone read any of Tom Bradby's novels? Are they any good?

I'm surprised they are going back to the "Nightly News" title. It just makes me think of the US programme of the same name......and we all know how cr@p theirs are! The parody shown on "Broken News" is unfortunately very close to the truth! Shocked

Well it fits in with the rest of the ITV News programme titles, plus News At 10:30 is a bit of a mouthful compared to the simple News At Ten. If they used just ITV News it wouldn't feel individual in terms of name, where as ITV Nightly News makes a bit more sense, plus very few people probably remember the short lived ITV Nightly News anyway, the only thing the majority remember is that the News went out at 11pm for a bit.

This interview with Deborah Turness has an interesting snippet about the new Nightly News.

‘tie-less news' will set the tone of the programme.

Do they mean this literally? If so, is this a first for mainstream terrestrial bulletins?
