I'd have:

Morning News
Owen Thomas
(Rachel McTavish)

Lunchtime News:
Nicholas Owen and Katie Derham
(Steve Scott and Nina Hossain)

Evening News:
Mark Austin and Mary Nighingale
(Steve Scott and Nina Hossain)

Nightly News:
Alastair Stewart + Sport w/ Felicity Barr
(Mark Austin + Steve Scott)

Weekend News:
Lunchtime: Steve Scott
Evening: Andrea Catherwood and Steve Scott with Sport
Late: Andrea Catherwood

And for the record, London bulletins:
During GMTV: Leyla Daybelge
11am: Leyla Daybelge
1:10pm Leyla Daybelge
6pm Alastair Stewart and Lucy Alexander
10:50pm Lucy Alexander
Wknds: Jonathan Wills

I'd like to see on ITV2 and 3 some sort of bulletin or programmes with Andrew Harvey and John Nicolson.

Even after the ITV News Channel closes, you just can't get away from the schedule posters. Very Happy

Agree about Katie, the nodding gets irritating (Lucy Owen adopted this on her Christmas day bulletin!).

Didn't Lucy anchor the bulletin on her own?

That didn't stop her...

Have any of the other former news channel presenters appeared on screen in any other kind of role so far ie. reporting (think I saw Chris Rogers), or other channels or regional ITV news ?

I miss Owen the most. Not that bothered about Sasha Herriman.

Owen, Leyla, Susan Bookbinder, Carrie Frais and Chris Rogers were all doing ITV London bulletins over the holiday period.

I think Sasha was good to look at, but her journalistic skills are nothing to write home about. I miss Owen and John Nicolson the most. Chris did the morning news summary and apparantly Faye Barker has done a report for GMTV. Aren't many former news channel presenters at ITV London now (as they were before)?

Sasha was one of those appalling types of newsreader who thought it best to shout at the camera rather than actually read the autocue like a human being.

agree with Jonathan in missing Live with John Nicolson - always thought him to be one of the better interviewers and presenters.

Nick owen

An alternative solution - I'm not saying this is what I think should happen, I'm just wondering what you think!

Basically, Mark Austin moves to the 10.30pm and Mary Nightingale becomes the sole anchor of the Evening News.

Mark could still have a role on the Evening News covering for Mary when she's off (so about 3 or 4 nights a week then! Laughing ) and possibly also anchoring on location when big stories break, with Mary in the studio.

Any thoughts on this?

Lunchtime
Nina Hussein & Nicholas Owen
(Felicity Barr & Steve Scott)

Evening
Mark Austin & Mary Nightengale
(Nicholas Owen, James Mates, Nina Hussein, Katie Derham)

Nightly
Alistair Stewart
(Mark Austin)

Weekend
Sulie Goash (SP?), Bill Neeley, James Mates, Steve Scott, Feilicty Barr, Owen Thomas)

Thats who I think should be preseting ITV News

A slightly updated version on a list I posted earlier, giving a prominent Weekend role to Nina Hossain, who'd also host the Friday Lunchtime and Evening News.

Basically, weekdays remain the same:

Lunchtime News: Nicholas Owen, Katie Derham (Alistair Stewart, Nina Hossain)

Evening News: Mark Austin, Mary Nightingale (Steve Scott, Nina Hossain)

Nightly News: Mark Austin, Sport with Felicity Barr (James Mates, Steve Scott)

As I said before, I'd introduce fixed 30-minute bulletins (inc. Regional News) at the weekends at 12.30pm and 5.30pm, plus a further 15-minute bulletin at around 11pm.

Weekend 12.30: Nina Hossain (Andrea Catherwood)
Weekend 5.30: Nina Hossain, Sport with Steve Scott (Andrea Catherwood, Lisa Knights)
Weekend 11.00: Steve Scott (TBA - Lisa Knights would do the Lunchtime London Today, with the 5.30 London Tonight host doing the 11pm ITV News)

Felicity Barr would host the main 6pm edition of London Tonight with Alistair Stewart.
