I find it very sad that this forum thinks mentioning someone's hair is worthy of being removed. How very sad. I think the moderators need to get an understanding on life in general. Do you think you're running some kind of dictatorship where you control the basics of free speech?

So you can't mention someone's hair in a light hearted comment, but you can perv over cameras and studios all day long and the ongoings of what's happening 24/7 at the BBC Newsroom?

I hope none of you who moderate here ever gets to be in any sort of meaningful power. You must be living in a fantasy world.

The clue is on the front page of this very forum, which clearly states "The television presentation and related discussion website" I don't see where a presenter's hairstyle comes into it?

Gary mentions DS which does have those type of conversations which may be more to your type of media discussion.

I don't know if you're UK based or not, but here we don't have any right to free speech, especially not on private property. The owner (and their representatives) is always at liberty to say "shut it or sling your 'ook". This isn't dictatorship, this is a simple matter of respect.

This isn't Digital Spy, we have a bit more decorum on here...

I wouldn't say there was decorum on here, indeed in a number of areas there is a considerable amount of clique and blinkered vision to anything which is not anorak based

You complain about it being a "dictatorship" yet you think you have the right to dictate what hairstyle a newsreader should have. This isn't North Korea. The concensus of people who've been here many years longer than you was it is not the sort of territory we go into here and we tend to have a little bit of respect for people in the industry and judge them on their abilities, not their style choices.

Indeed. If TVF started allowing that type of conversation, as well as attracting people who'd bring down the standard of conversation, it'd also put off some of the industry insiders who regularly contribute.

Between criticisms based on factual inaccuracies, superficial critiques of presenters' appearance and a resistance to the protocols of how things are done around here, I'd say this guy either needs to jump or be pushed.

You don't turn up to a party, misbehave and then refuse to tone it down or leave when the host tells you to. Simple as that.

For what it's worth, the higher standard of discussion is exactly why I (as someone who works in a well-known newsroom) choose to come here and engage. Some people gauge the tone correctly straight away, others get it a bit wrong but then successfully adapt, earning respect in the process - it's what makes a community... NOT flatly refusing to comply with standards that everyone else has no problem following.

You mean it wasn't our delightful array of Good Morning Britain mocks? Hehe, there was an RTP for certain posts in this thread but the overall membership seems to have put things right and in perspective. Well done you lot Smile

If you have seen his other video on the ITV London Studios that is also brilliant too, the editing is so well done!

I hope to see more videos like this.
