The regional recap of the headlines during the Evening News is on the whole a good thing - but annoying when like last night here in Wales we got the same headlines as the national news due to two stories being Cardiff based.
Not sure how it should be dealt with - repeating them again doesn't seem right, but neither would be ommitting them.

Reporting other news that was not in the headlines? London usually says (as an example) "(The burglary) was also our top story, the other headlines in London Tonight..."
Probably the best way of doing it is to provide a different angle, or just go for something along the lines of "We'll be getting more reaction..." rather than just repeating the same headline.
I think today is the first day ITV News has really missed it's 24 hour channel.
ITV News had a massive story in the Charles Kennedy revelations, but without the 24 hour service the BBC and Sky covered the reprocussions live, while ITV had to wait till it's 6.30pm bulletin.
It also means no follow up - i.e. who will and won't be standing in the leadership contest.
On ITV's head! they shouldn't have got rid of the channel! There WAS a greater reason as to why they got rid of the channel. It gave Kennedy a chance to explain his drink problem first. I think he would be an emense primeminister! He is far more honest. Granted, he didn't admit his drink's problem, but who would. Patient confidentiality. Blair lies about weapons of mass destruction etc.. I know who I trust more!

The BBC dont call themselves 'BBC' on their webpages, nor do ITV call themselves 'ITV' therefore there is no reason for you to is there.
It was actually the beeb who got me using dots. One of their first 'logos' was their letters in dots. I saw this 'logo' in a museum, and I thought to my self:
"Yeah, that is a more formal way of expressing this abbrevieation, and I like to be correct, and I'll use this method!"
