Probably not their decision, or even action. Transmission of the channel, including adverts, was provided externally by NTL (although there were some signs a month or so ago that transmission had been moved to The London Studios - what was LNN - but that was never clear or confirmed).

My Sky box cut it off just as the Dell ad finished. I believe the Sky Boxes cut it off themselves at the time it's told. This way channels can broadcast a testcard or something without the viewer seeing it.
The ITV News Channel has ceased broadcasting message probably was broadcast to Sky, just that my dodgybox didn't like the timing.

Unlike other similar programmes (such as the 50 years of BBC News), there was loads for us presentation fans.

Well that was partly the reason. ITV had the choice to drop mens and motors or the itv news channel in order to make way for their new kids channel. Sadly they took the dumb decision...
