Kevin Bakhurst's comments are slightly historically inaccurate - ITN NC and the ITV Network ran separate output on 9/11.

From those pictures during the war, did ITV News broadcast 24 hours a day, as they had 'LIVE' at around two in the morning.

they certainly did for most of the war - employing the likes of Angela Rippon and Alastair Stewart for overnight coverage.
