There's definately been a change in the style of the channel this week, the presenters seem more relaxed (not sure if they actually are) and are joking around every other minute.

Yes, I think a better explanation would be: they can't be a***d making the effort to look like they care anymore.

Totally disagree. From what i've seen they've remained totally professional whilst at the same time making barbed references to the fact that the channel's closing down - hardly a sign of not being bothered.

Whilst I've never been a fan of the ITV News Channel, I have been impressed at the way the presenters have coped since the closure was announced. For them it must be incredibly demoralising having to put effort into a channel which has been axed. After all, what incentive can there be for them to be their best? Every day recently must have seemed like an exercise in rearranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic.

...and let's not forget the hard work put in by the production teams who are still wondering if they'll have a job at ITN through 2006.

It would make my day if they found the missing penguin just before 6pm.

I see one of the crew took the opportunity to wave to the camera when it went to a wide pan. Laughing

Owen and Faye shared a hug and a kiss at the end of the 5:30 half-hour, and in the wide shot, the camera operator gave a quick wave to the camera. Bless.
