There's definately been a change in the style of the channel this week, the presenters seem more relaxed (not sure if they actually are) and are joking around every other minute. Owen and Faye have been good, it's just strange that Steve and Felicity didn't present the 'drivetime' hours. The shots of the studio have been interesting, a novelty. So Owen and Faye are the last 'news' presenters for the channel. What was mentioned on the lunchtime news?

From what Scott said at the end of his programme, it doesn't look as if he will be aired on ITV2/3/4 after all.

and who ever said that it would be??

Noone said it, Luke, put your handbag away. We speculated about whether it would be moved to ITV2.

For me, that ad with the dancing bear they're still showing rather sums up the grim inevitability of it all.

All very depressing really. Hope the final half hour is actually live.
Wonder what we'll get at 6pm - tone and colour bars perhaps?

JUST 2 HOURS REMANING

shame there are no reallly nice camera angles this afternoon

Just coming out of the break, the camera was focused on the autocue, and then panned across the studio and round to the desk. Nice touch. There have also been plenty of jokes about being 'out on the streets' and "let's not talk about the future" type banter. It's all been good natured fun.

Who'd have thought the best way to make ITV News Channel more watchable would be to shut it down?

Yes, I think a better explanation would be: they can't be arsed making the effort to look like they care anymore.

And it wasn't part of the script, but a message from one of the crew:

Totally disagree. From what i've seen they've remained totally professional whilst at the same time making barbed references to the fact that the channel's closing down - hardly a sign of not being bothered.
