Yorkshire Look North (E.Yorks & Lincs)
As with all regions - I cannot see why visually it can still be branded as ITV News, but verbally as Channel Report or Calendar etc.

I am sure there is not one viewer who will think... "Oh look it's six o'clock, I must switch over to My ITV for "ITV News from Channel" (or other variation) " or ever will.

Branding is great - but there is saturation point / suitability

Does Channel Television even exist as an entity any more? Now that they've been taken over by ITV PLC are they technically just an ITV News region now? They seem intent on holding onto the 'Channel Television' name and are still even showing Oscar Puffin. It just seems oddly out of place for an ITV News region to still do a kids afternoon show. Really i don't know why they don't just make it for CITV, it would fit in really well.

Unlike most other ITV plc regions, Channel is a lot more than just an ITV News region, as can be seen from their website:

Sure its worth a quick mention - Channel Reports had Wesley Smith, Mr Central South, anchoring their programmes a few weeks ago!

Mr Central South tweeted tonight that he was presenting Channel Reports tonight, so had a quick look. There was a ITV ident before the programme with a voice over saying "this is ITV Channel Television", the title sequence said "ITV News Channel TV" and the presenter called it "ITV News Channel"

It's retained for legal reasons - Channel handle compliance of ITV shows so if anything goes seriously tits up it's Channel, not ITV, who get it in the neck.
It's great that everybody gets sarcasm.

I don't think this is the case any more since there was a scandal a few years ago when there was a ridiculously low fine levied at Channel TV (it would have been mcg bigger if ITV had handled the compliance).

That was historically the case, and why ITV plc specifically didn't own Channel TV. However after the phone vote scandals of a few years back, Ofcom changed the way fines work ISTR, which meant that having Channel TV be responsible for compliance of indies no longer made any financial difference. So there was no need for Channel to be separate, so ITV plc bought it.
