There were no colour bars at 10am on DTT in London and it's been on air fine since then, showing the swearing-in ceremony from Ramallah and Alan Milburn's speech to the Fabian Society.
Anyway it doesn't happen that often. Surely all channels - especially continuous news channels - will have occasional technical glitches?

Yeah - perhaps no more so than the Beeb - only a few months ago BBC News 24 went tits up when there was power testing at TV Centre and we had a morning of World but more than 40 minutes of colour bars is pretty awful.
Sky also fall off air but they run emergency half-hours.
It seems that the problem is somewhere with transmission more than a problem with the output.
Obviously these things can't be helped - but i have to laugh at how wahtshisface - head of ITV News said that the NC would have beat N24 by the end of last year then Sky News was next.
Anyone know when the ITV News channel will be back on DTT nationwide (or more particularly... the north east!). The information slide is still saying "Early 2005" - bit vague.
I shouldn't worry too much if I were you, the channel is abysmal and isn't worth watching.
Well instead of just slamming it, what would you like to see happen to the channel in the way that it runs, it looks and comes across instead of just saying it's rubbish.
ITV News channel isn't bad though it's not as in depth and as clever as BBC News 24 and Sky News. If ITV News thought about it and put effort into being a basic regular news service instead of trying too hard to be like News 24, it might work to its advantage.
ITV News is still of Digital Satellite in my house... Can anyone actually recieve the ITV News channel at the moment? I cant believe they seriously think they are running a news channel. Obviously they cant help technical problems, but many days later and still nothing...
