Big Al on duty tomorrow night on NaT according to Julie.

He should make the most of it... it may be the last News at Ten he ever does if ITV make the move permanent!

Yep, Rageh was shcedueld for Thursday & Friday this week, however he has been reporting from Kenya recently, with Julie hosting tonight on Thursdays, Nina doesn't doe nationals on Wednesday & Thursdays, and Tom is off this week, there's only Alastair really to cover NaT, there's no one else I can think of who has hosted NaT since Tom took over.

Surely any of ITV's newsreaders are more than capable of presenting a news programme whether that be Alastair, Charlene, Kylie, Mary, Julie etc. I don't know why there is such an obsession on when Alastair Stewart presents news at ten- yes he is a great newsreader but does it matter if he's on at 10:00, 10:30 or 6:30....it's just a time of day!

For example- oh my goodness I've just seen Tom Bradby present the news - but it was on at 4:55pm- I don't think I've ever seen him present at that time of day before- has anyone seen the itv news at 4:55 before- it must be a first oh no I've wet my pants due to the excitement 😜

It is not an obsession it is simply the fact that Alastair is the best newscaster on TV and viewers enjoy seeing him present the news. Don't forget there was a lot of hype before Tom took over about it being Alastair's last News At Ten. It shows his experience and popularity the fact he presents frequently.

He excels in breaking news events, he also should've been the face of ITV News, rather than Mark Austin or Tom Bradby, however Bradby has that pompous style which is terrible.
