The news desk has been changed to the one that was used for Election 2015.

Can't think of anything coming up apart from the 2 debates. Will they using the studio for analysis afterwards?

Interesting to note that next Monday there's no ITV Lunchtime News or Regional News at all, due to Euro 2016 coverage starting at 1.30pm.

It's the same next Friday as well. You'd think they would slot in a quick 5-minute bulletin. So there will be no "News" on ITV between 8am(ish) and 6pm.

Expect padded late regional bulletins to make up the time later in the year.

What will happen in the regions on the days on which there are shorter early evening regional bulletins or no lunchtime regional bulletins will have already happened by the period when the late bulletins might have their length increased. So what's the point in having padded late bulletins later this year?

Back during the World Cup in 2002, ITV still had a shorter lunchtime bulletin at 11:50 a.m. to make way for the football. Is ITV able to drop the Lunchtime News completely on days when there's football in the afternoon because it has two half-hour bulletins in the evening?

Perhaps they might insert a headline bulletin into This Morning or in fact the Euro 16 programme itself.

It literally only effects the two days mentioned, so presumably they are allowed.

Ofcom's rules explicitly mention that sports coverage may and is allowed to disrupt the usual patterns.

Actually is their any legal obligation at all for the lunchtime bulletin. I'm sure they're only legally obliged to provide a 30 minute bulletin in peak and a certain minutage of regional news, which is averaged over the year.

There's that dodgy 3G signal again in Marseille tonight.

I doubt it. Presumably, anyone who wants to avail of ITV news coverage will go to the website.

Regardless of the letter of the law, you would think ITV might like to do a news bulletin at lunchtime in any case? If they can't fit in the lunchtime news when a match is kicking off at 2pm, heaven help them.
