New V/O for the 6.30. It's no longer 'ITV News at 6.30'. But now it's 'The ITV Evening News'. Did they use that yesterday?
No, the usual 6:30pm voiceover was used yesterday. Don't really know why they felt the need to revert back to the old name.
I think it's to further differentiate the other bulletins to News at Ten. To be honest I'd say people still generally call it the Lunchtime/Evening News so a good move in my opinion.
They've been so keen to push the ITV News brand in the last few years, even adapting the regional news programme names to 'ITV News [region]' that it seems strange to break away from that pattern, regardless of what most people call it. Having the 'News at...' titles provided some nice unification as far as the network bulletins went - and remember ITN had News at One, News at 5:45 and News at Ten all listed as such for several years...

I hear what you're all saying about reverting to the previous bulletin names (and yes, the revised naming does break up the 'ITV News' word mark) but I still think the 'ITV Lunchtime News' and 'ITV Evening News' roll off the tongue much more easily and are hopefully easier for viewers to remember as they are just more natural sounding. It also means that should the TX for either of these bulletins ever change, the programme titles can hopefully remain the same.
