Don’t be silly, Neil. Fires are not allowed in the studio. Especially camp ones........all that glitter is a problem.

Alastair Stewart is a news legend. Simply put. I’m uneasy with this random roster he seems to have. Although, we never know; perhaps it’s of his choosing?

He is 67 - past the early retirement age and almost at the general retirement age. Probably has enough pull with ITN where he can pick and choose what shifts suit him.

Still one of the best in the game news delivered in a style that makes it understandable and digestible even when it’s not good, and his sense of humour has certainly changed across the years.

He would probably not thank us (me) for suggesting it, but an 0600am ITN World News bulletin fronted by Alastair would be an excellent feeder into the new (rumoured) 0630am start for GMB.

Either way, I'd like to see ITN (ITV News, as now is) give us something a bit more than the current programming. A World News bulletin would be nice.

Does Tom Bradby still do News at Ten and is he back full-time after his recent prolonged absence?

He's been back for ages and unlike others been present for much of the summer.

More chance of them repeating News at Ten at 6am than having a World News bulletin.
I preferred the internet when it had a sense of humour.

Tom's been back for over a year, but I have noticed Julie presenting it more often since. Has the position become more of a job share like Michael Buerk and Martyn Lewis/Peter Sissons on the BBC in the 90s? Either that or I'm only catching the ITV bulletins on Julie's days.

It’s a fantasy to think the great Al would present at 6am. GMB have their own presenting team, why would they use someone from the ITN pres team. It would just mean a promotion for someone already on the team.

Any talk of ITN producing a news bulletin at 6am would necessitate major changes to staffing arrangements at ITN and would probably incur significant costs. There is a skeleton staff at ITN overnight - down to one person in MCR and I think maybe someone in the newsroom keeping an eye on things. Since the cancellation of the Morning News several years ago, there just aren't the resources at ITN at that time anymore.

I must be the opposite because when I catch it (probably once or twice a week) it tends to be Tom or Rageh.
