It really doesn't happen that often now compared to the bad days - probably meaning when it does it sticks out more and 5 nights in a fortnight isn't great, though better than 6 weeks on the trot like it was a couple of years back.

How have ITV scheduled the local news from next week - is it still through to 10.45 or have they pulled it back to match the BBC 10.35 slot?
Shouldn't that have been posted in the "John Logie Baird has Invented Television" thread?

Monday 4th March 2019 - News at Ten scheduled for 10.00pm, with regional news at 10.30pm.

Tom appeared to accidentally drop his scripts behind the desk at the end of tonights News at Ten. He tried to style it out but you can tell he found it rather humorous.

I don't think he accidentally dropped the scrips behind the desk, but on the table while trying to shuffle them. Here's a clip if anyone is interested...

The news time on a Friday barely counts. The news at ten on Friday is so important the BBC never extended the length of their version on a Friday.

It’s been the case for ages now, on a Monday to Thursday that if ITV feel they have something of an extended length to show, then they will show it and push back News at Ten. The long term viewing figures are not effected in any way.

BBC News at Ten on a Friday leads into their one big post-News at Ten programme, The Graham Norton Show, so this is why the scheduling of BBC News at Ten is important on Fridays too.

A big 'News at When' week this week. 3 out of 5 editions this week at 10:30pm.

Yes, and just look at the programming which is shifting the news - on Wednesday it is The Junk Food Experiment. Meaning ITV News scheduled to commence at 10.25pm! Then Vera on Friday means the news moves to 10.30pm. It is a repeat, not a new episode, or an end of series episode, but a repeat and they are moving the news for it.

Yes Friday’s scheduling is an odd one, I believe the same happened last Friday too? I’m not sure why they’ve decided to throw old Vera on a Friday and disrupt both Corrie and the news. However the BBC have EastEnders on at 8:30 on Friday too with Question of Sport at 8pm. Clearly both sides are wanting to avoid clashes between the two prime soaps but the question is who moved theirs first. Did ITV move Corrie so the BBC moved EastEnders or have the BBC moved EastEnders so that’s why ITV have moved Corrie?

I'd prefer them to stick with 22:30 permanently. I just think it works better.

Just that it would be up against Newsnight, and would ITV News do better against Newsnight than BBC News at Ten?

Isn't it more that while the news is outperformed by the BBC anything else in that slot performs even worse (other than when it's a continuation of something beginning before ten which will never be a daily occurance) similar to how the BBC used to schedule the news opposite the Sunday episode of Corrie several years back.
