I think the major development in the site is that there will be reports from the itv news team, rather than copied itn content. The one extra that I would say is that they should categorise news into business and politics etc, however this would probably involve copying itn content.

The breaking news about Operation Mushtarak, covered well by Alastair and Julie, looked totally out of place when juxtaposed against the shameless Piers Morgan promotion (which they stupidly led with - using the "human interest" guff, not the political angle) and the "report" on the Rooneys. Have we officially gone back to that celebrity-tabloid-trash era of ITV News?

I know they are two different things as the internet is concered but would one major site be a bad idea??
Also Im wondering how stories without videos will be placed on the website. Before there used to be stories with no video link but now this site is so dependant on a video will they have a separate page for just text stories. I wonder

...why not just hang on a while and see for yourself how they cope with it? I'm sure that it'll all launch properly soon.

I agree with this.

That sort of lapse is never far away. Some days they produce a well-rounded bulletin, full of accessible reports and quality investigative journalism. Alas, at other times there is too much cross-promotion, and even with its more tabloid angle, the fluff is suffocatingly fluffy.

Inconsistent.

It should be noted that even BBC News were running with the Piers Morgan interview story last night
