Definitely agree with you on that. The whole thing has really grown on me - in particular, I love the music. I don't miss the old look at all, was never that keen on the London skyline set personally.

I must admit it's growing on me now, even though I didn't like it when it started, although I do miss News At Ten having a separate look, that's what bugged me.
Though I wasn't a fan at the pre-launch publicity stage, I pretty much liked it from the off and still do - and I'm quite happy they haven't compromised on it by tweaking elements which didn't need tweaking. The only change I'd like to see - and it's a minor one - is that the generic Big Ben clock face in the title sequence be replaced with ones at 1.30/6.30/10 for the main bulletins.
The regional look has also grown on me - the studios especially - but the titles still look cheap and new music would have been nice.
P.S. Was six years on Monday too since the "Theatre of News" opened for business.

That's my only real problem with the look of ITV News at the moment. Everything looks pretty acceptable though the camera pan in the titles can look bizarre at times. Apart from those two aspects I think it's a decent look, much better than the patchwork system of before. However - that London skyline was brilliant.
That looks like the start of the regional weather sting to me.
Indeed - there are no news headlines at 3pm anymore but a regional weather summary remains at just before 4pm.
The summary was axed a few years ago in favour of an hour-long lunchtime bulletin (and we all know how well that turned out...!) They managed to get away with not bringing the 3pm headlines back after cutting the news back down to 30 minutes, but the regional weather update remained for some bizarre reason.
