mabye because of what happened with Mark , she needed more because of background info ect.
Nice high shot at the end of NaT - What do the presenters have on the desk with them? I know they'll probably have the script incase auto-cue fails but Julie seemed to have LOADS of papers scattered around tonight, surely she doesn't need all of them?

Any caps of it if it's so great?
Probably time now to bring Mark back really - I'm sure the live hosting would finish by the end of the week anyway, but with all the problems and the story being less dominant on the news agenda the benefits of having a host on location are rapidly decreasing.
Has Mary hosted any bulletins since Mark's been in Haiti - from what I've seen it seems to be Alastair at 6.30 and Julie at Ten.

yeah I think It makes sense to at least bring Mark back today/tomorrow - it's been a week since the earthquake. Surely it's better having Mark in the studio , rather than quite a lot of the time having problems and not having him at all.

Some of the presenters are terrible for that, especially Geraint who practically covers the desk in paper. I've never really understood the need for them to have paper now since they've got an autocue and have a computer. It all looks a bit of a parody these days, and Katie scribbling allover hers (pretending shes writing) at the end of bulletins she presents alone makes me laugh.

How do you know she isn't writing. And I take it when you're doing some sort of major work / research and what not you rely solely on the screen and never print anything out to make it easier?

Because its too exaggerated to be writing, plus she clearly crosses through stuff. And shouldn't all research be done prior to the bulletin anyway? Katie just reads off an autocue (which she has probably had input to), as do all other newsreaders.
