Strangely, the new ITV News music seems to have disappeared from the online library - unless it has been moved to a different category.

At least he didn't do a trevor and keep looking in the wrong direction/camera. He actually said sorry and repeated himself.
Alastair does seem to be the most down to earth of the top 5. So I'm glad his got a much more prominent position since the revamp. Although he isn't the official "top" anchor, I would say he near enough is - his on the 6:30 ( the higher rated bulleten than NAT) and is doing the General Election/Leader debates.
Bit of a slip up there from Alistair as it seems as if he was looking down at the floor

Wales and West of England, IIRC.
I think Helen is just a freelance reporter.

I'm totally sick of these distant swooping camera shots when the newscaster is introducing a report. Also - why do they insist on standing up at the very start of the bulletin for a few seconds, only to be seated for the next 25 minutes?
We also had Amy Winehouse in the headline sequence tonight, and awfully dramatic language in a report about two pensioners being killed in a coach accident (dramatic even by the stereotypical ITV News standards). I know the emphasis is more on the human interest angle, but this is just getting ridiculous now. And if it's not something like "A Mother's Awful Tragedy" in the heads sequence it's something vague like "Murdered" or "For Life". And don't get me started on the on-screen graphics. After such a brilliant couple of years - content-wise and graphic-wise - I'd hate to think we're back in that rough patch again.
(end of pre-Christmas moan. And, yeah, I know I'm repeating myself. But I thought I might as well, seeing as my essay went completely unnoticed.

I think the whole intro to the bulletin is wrong. The should scrap the standing up bit. Instead it should be Headlines in full , then titles, then voiceover or titles, then Headlines , then voiceover.
I have also notice the headline sequence getting more "dramatic".
I agree with your last point - but I think the ratings have gone up ( even if it's just ever so slightly) since the revamp - so I think will see it for quite a while.
I think most peope would agree that to some extent a few things have improved , but lot of things haven't *cough* News at Ten *cough*
I know they wanted to bring it more in line with ITV1 , and that's fair enough, but mainly graphics wise - It could have been done so much better.
One thing for the better is the use of social networking - they seemd to not wan't anythink to do with it - but now they are using a lot more.
And all this from a pro-itv news poster!
