The driest anchors always seem to be the top anchors. Julie and Mark very boring. Alistair and Mary much better. Katie just slobs over the desk these days.

I dislike Alistair's pantomime and smarmy style.

Spot on. Everything is so earnest and overblown with Stewart, as befits ITV News.

ITV News isn't OTT anymore (or Daily Mail TV as some put it) as it was a few years ago, but its hard to see past that when Alastair is on!

I disagree about what skyfan said about Katie though, imo she is the best presenter ITV have.

Based on my earlier post it won't come as a surprise to hear that I agree with you entirely.

One annoyance of the re-branding is that we have seen less of Katie on the national news. Hopefully this is just whilst the new arrangements are being bedded in and it won't be long before we return to Katie presenting the later bulletins on a more regular basis.

I think it should just be katie on the lunchtime news because she usually does 2 a week and alastair does 3 aswell as the evening news.

The new look is beginning to grow on me. I think that the music is much much better that the old music which had no kick to it - but I do think that they should have left the News At Ten music alone. I don't mind the titles or the set - but the yellow boxes on the desk don't seem to make any sense. A few tweeks would help.

As said previously, it's the ITV logo and branding!

I seem to recall that Mark Austin has his own office at Grays Inn Road, which was always Trevor's. So, I'd have to disagree with you there. It's clear that Mark is the head newscaster.

Yeah I think I've read on twitter , somethink about Mark's office & when I emailed ITV news a little while ago, it wen't to Editor/ Director PA (who it said was also Mark's PA)

Not as strong identity as the four blocks is it?

Not as strong identity as the four blocks is it?

I've said all along that the current ITV identity is the weakest they have ever had. It's far too generic; if members on here are having trouble figuring out what the yellow rectangles represent, what chance has the ordinary viewer got?

Each to their own. I thought it was pretty obvious.

I doubt they'll care. If they do notice they'll probably just think its part of the set and not worrying themselves over representation.

Exactly. It's only "members on here" who while away their hours trying to "figure out" what bits of set mean. It's just a desk.
