Not brilliant at all, though personally prefer them to the 2006 titles, but not a patch on those from 2004. And why relaunch on a Wednesday - would waiting till Monday really harm? I was hoping for a change to the theme too.
The titles look absolutely hideous in comparison to both the current national news titles and the 2006 regional news titles. These new titles look as if they've been knocked up in an afternoon. (And that wouldn't be the first time that sort of thing has happened on ITV...) I really hope that these titles aren't inflicted on the entire network and they come up with something extremely better for whenever it is they plan to update regional news. You can tell little effort has been put it - they've got a "oh well, not gonna to be around for much longer" mentality about regional news. And don't get me started on those astons.
I'm just glad Calendar still has the 2006 look for a while yet.
Yes. Although, I think they are doing this to test the water and it will all be changed soon.

ITV London will change next month
Same titles and studio setup as we have seen today in Central?

I have no idea however it is likely to be the same as Central. I think every region will gradualy launch and next year we may get a slight tweak to titles, music and set adjustments.
Imagine London will have a nicer version of those titles made up, more like those national ones and they'll soon enough be nabbed by Central and the rest of the network when the look is rolled out to them.
It's not too bad with the latest national music...but I do hope they spruce up the graphics and studio lighting before the changes make their way to Bristol!

I think it's the general 3D Camera movement and the "Central Tonight" at an angle that makes it look bad. If they started out with a zooming out ITV News logo (like the nationals) with the camera heading into the hero panels and moving out into a normal "Central Tonight" text it would look great.
The lighting needs to be sort of inverted so it is yellow hints with lots of black.
The astons are just... yuck. I would totally overhaul those.
HORRIFIC!!! looks dreadful. I agree titles look cheap and nasty and really don't think the black and yellow in it's current form is working AT ALL! Shouldn't have bothered!
