I don't believe this is an official shot - it's probably a capture from a run-through or a camera test.
With this shot being released, I feel for both James & Julie, it's not a great shot for either of them.

It's in reference to the Lightwell virtual backdrop. Usually they'd be displayed on some sort of screen in in a physical set, but here they're incorporated as a secondary virtual layer.
I have to say I really like the bones of the design, very Scandinavian and a refreshing change in direction for ITV News. Though virtual sets which could easily be replicated in reality are a real bug bear of mine, I think imitating reality rather than embracing the potential of VR often creates an air of cheapness. Though I will of course reserve judgement until it's seen on air.
