Is there a longer closing theme of the new credits been released yet? Or recorded I should say as its library.
It's not library. At least, not yet.
Even if it hasn't been released into that particular 'unmentionable' library, the new music still retains elements of "The Awakening". Which is, of course, library music...

ITV News themes have generally been commissioned and recorded specially for the programme. They then may get released into a library, but that is not the same thing!

Yes, but "The Awakening" wasn't composed specially for ITN - it was already present in the library when News at Ten came about in 1967 and they cut up what they needed from that particular track. I don't know when it was composed - probably earlier '60s - definitely before 1967.

The Head of Music at ITN worked directly with the composer(s) on the latest theme (as she has done on the previous themes dating back to the 1992 News at Ten theme). This is with the agreement of the 'unmentionable' library though, which continues to publish all versions of the music.
As BBCNicky says, the latest package remains library music, regardless of whether it has been issued on CD yet or made available through Play.

I think the jib has been in use on the News at 1.30 since the first day of the revamp - although I've only managed to watch two editions of that programme - I presume the jib is still present on the lunchtime bulletin?
