If they were we would have heard by now .But I'm not sure I'm no expert you'd be best asking someone who works at itv.-That's if they're allowed to say.

To be fair, I don't think the question was aimed purely at you.

I know that I thought I would give it a go and answer it anyway.

I thought ITV were. doing something right for a change, well if they don't go ahead with it, it will look like they just proposed the re-introduction of the reigons in order to keep their licence. :/

I went onto the ITN Source website for the first time in what must be years, and was surprised to find a lot of archive material actually available to watch online. I can't seem to find much in the way of full programmes, and I'm sure ITN must have at least a good handful of election broadcasts (even if some only survive as telerecordings). But it's quite amazing what you do come across on the website...

...and now, without further ado, I present to you Trevor McDonald's newscaster screen test from 1972!

I think ITV's proposal for that included a signficant reduction in the minutes, which IIRC OFCOM rejected and opted to offer to renew the licence by maintaining the status quo - which is probably what ITV wanted anyway.

There are definitely plans to streamline some of the regional news names around the country to try and provide a bit more consistency. For example, I'm fairly certain ITV News London will replace the more traditional London Today and London Tonight, and expect similar changes in other regions.

West Country Tonight's Twitter account has been renamed "itvNews West Country" although the actual Twitter address is @ITVWestCountry

It would seem more appropriate to rename it ITV News South West, as they tend to describe themselves as ITV News in the South West on air and on their Twitter account.

When they talk about ITV West Country they tend be be referring to the old Westcountry region, ITV West tends to be used when referring to the old HTV West region, but ITV in the South West is used when describing both regions.

I've been having a look on twitter recently about the relaunch and have seen a few behind the scenes pics and in one of them In a corridor going into the itv news studio I seen one part of the old Lt sofa is this a new one for the upcoming relaunch or just and old spare hanging about?

And also it seems they are moving studios I'm not sure if it's itv news or something else but I also seen something about a physical set?
And mentioning that the current jib in the itv news studio is going to studio 1 which correct me if i'm wrong is the old temporary 5 news studio?
They could be moving down to studio 1. And i know they have been piloting the new look in that studio!
And itv news also have a new jib in the current studio.

These are a few things I seen and thought I would share as it's not long to go now until the new look.

I believe Lightwell are working on the new set. It may have some physical elements, but I expect it will still be mainly virtual.
