Can the 'Asa' now unlock the ITV News and News At Ten forums, so we can discuss in there, as the revamp, has now kinda come and gone

...this is the new thread for ITV News. It's a TV Forum "tradition" to lock the old threads and start new ones with rebrands or revamps.

(By the way, Asa is his name.)

I wish they would brand their news like they did in 1999-2004.

ITV Morning News
ITV Lunchime News
ITV Evening News
ITV News At Ten
ITV Weekend News

I loved that era of presenation too. Music was good and nice graphics.

Im not keen on ITV News at 6.30 etc... Sounds old fashioned.

Being really dull I happen to have checked the runtime of the three main bulletins (excluding adverts) on a couple of occasions and both times the News at Ten was 27 minutes, the lunchtime News at 1.30 was 22 minutes and the evening News at 6.30 was 21 minutes.
I expect that the 6.30 bulletin has been a little longer when there have been difficulties selling the advertising space but under normal circumstances it is shorter than most people think.
(London Tonight is usually 30 minutes long, I would imagine that the other regional programmes are the same).

yeah NAT normally ends 10:27/8 and the EN around 6:52/3(plus ads).

Probably changed a bit now, especially on Thursdays with the new 8pm soap hour, but usually Emmerdale would start around 6.58pm on Mon/Wed/Fri, and as late as 7.04pm on Tue/Thu, which of course means the Evening News could vary accordingly - though it's very rare it goes beyond 6.55pm.

Why do the titles look more realistic than the studio?!

Why do the titles look more realistic than the studio?!

Because they're two different elements. Isn't that a bit like asking why the music is punchier than the presenter voices?

I dont recall Emmerdale ever starting as early as 6.58 on Monday and Friday - Corrie often starts as late as 7.33/7.34 those night so if Emmerdale started early there would be a lot more adverts. On Wed Emmerdale tends to start early cos of Football.

Have I started going mad or was the voice over missing from News at Ten tonight?
