Don't forget the 11:25 news summary...
One thing that really puts me off the current look is how distant the opening shots are on the bulletins without the jib, it makes it look a bit like an underground warehouse or something. I hope this is rectified in the new look, just moving the camera a bit further in would help.
On the subject of the Lunchtime News - I really think it was a mistake to shunt it to 1:30pm after they got rid of the terrible hour-long format. I would rather have it return to the traditional 12:30pm slot. I can't recall, but didn't they say it would make more sense to have This Morning lead straight into Loose Women, followed by the news? Has the Lunchtime News move even had any impact on Loose Women's ratings since it moved to 12:30pm?
I guess then we'll have to wait until lunchtime on the 14th Jan (if predictions are right) to see the new look ITV News in action rather than setting the alarm for 5.30am in the hope of an early sneak peak.

I agree - at lunchtime more so than in the evening it's important to get in first I think for ITV considering it's the first full "terrestrial" bulletin since breakfast - and indeed even with the news channels due to the nature of rolling news during the day it's still kind of the first traditional bulletin of the day which brings it all together. If people so don't like the news they won't stick with ITV for 30 minutes then they're not going to want to watch the News at One, so putting Loose Women at 1pm shouldn't be a problem, and surely now with ITV having a full daytime line up in the afternoon (plus with BBC1 being in the same positition from January), surely it's better to have Loose Women flowing into their afternoon line up than into the news.

There are good reasons for that.

That's a bit impertinent - a trait that seems to be all too commonplace on this forum. Actually, I was on the road, working on a programme whilst briefly browsing this thread. I thought I'd quickly make the point that there are good reasons for the way we do things. I can list them all if you like (it's mainly to do with camera positions, angles of view and the setups we use for different programmes) but I shouldn't imagine it would make that much sense without being in the studio.
And presumably you're not going to share them.

Actually, it feels like many of your posts deliberately hold back information, which can be quite annoying after a while.
