I know ITV is being rebranded in the new year, but does anyone know whether ITV News is going to get an on screen overhaul, other than just changing the logo?

Lightwell Design tweeted that they were "In London studios of large news broadcaster today to test virtual lightboxes within VR set. Virtual within virtual, not as odd as it sounds". Safe to assume that's ITN, and most likely ITV News? They also replied to a questioner saying they'll be able to provide more details next month.

Title sequence just now wasn't quite right - the 'hero panels' were out of kilter.

Problems with the titles sequence tonight, It froze for a second and then the images were not in the "hero panels" and just slowly crawled onto them

The music on the titles was ahead of the visuals prompting the images to fly into the 'hero panels'.

Same thing happened tonight how odd

Tonights images were flying right across though, they weren't staying fixed inside the panel.

Was the opening bong sequence live today then? Surely if it was pre-recorded they would have sorted the titles/panels out before they aired?

Given that London Tonight is now originating from PCR1 and Studio 2 immediately before 6.30pm, I'd assume that it's going to have to be live every night from now on. Unless they pre-record them before 6.00pm, in which case they could be out of date by the transmission time, so that's probably unlikely.

You can always pre-record and then decide to do it live if the content is out of date.

Yes, although before 6.00pm they'll be setting up for London Tonight, so it's highly unlikely.
