Do you have the slightly longer version on video, so I can listen to it, because I liked the longer ending

Iv noticed, especially since tuesday that 'ITV News at Ten' closing music has become different to the other bulletin and a lot more nicer! Does anybody have the closing titles of News at Ten from wednesday or tonight? If you do could I have the youtube link please! Smile

The closing music for ITV News at Ten includes a slightly longer build before the familiar ITN motif. Essentially, that version was the composer's original but it was cut down slightly for the other bulletins. The reason it suddenly appeared on Tuesday is because it hadn't been loaded onto the system in time for Monday's programme.

yeah correct me if i'm wrong, but It still seems to have hints of the NAT theme.

Both closing themes include the familiar four notes and da-da-da da-da right at the end, but the News at Ten close includes the first part of the title music in a longer build. The shorter closing theme used on all the other bulletins cuts straight from the bed into the familiar ITV elements, missing out the start of the title music. Essentially both are the same closing theme, except the generic version (non-News at Ten) has had about 10-15 seconds cut out so it builds quicker.

Phew! For a moment there I thought Lucy Manning was responding to Alistair by saying "Alistair, Darling" and not the chancellor

Nice end to Tonights ITV News at 10 with J and A commenting on sesame street

Laughing

Also, is it just me or is it stupid to have 2 near enough identical reports on the boxing match - one from Phil Reay Smith on the EN and one from Natiele Perks on NAT - both in the same location!! - It isn't as though it's someone who normally only does NAT reports like Penny Marshel.

BTW This programme was brought to you by the Number 10 and that's all from J and from A!! Laughing

I found them mentioning that quite funny but it was still nice to here, although when first hearing it, I thought Al had forgotten his co-host's name, but then it all made sense!

I might be wrong, but the whole idea of a "Breaking News" strap is to grab your attention. So does it not basically do what its supposed to?

That may be true, however there is a line to be drawn. The ITV one is ridiculous and makes the one used by Sky look subtle

Actually watching the Sky News headline sequence the other night all of a sudden ITV's headline straps didn't seem so bad at all.

Much preferred the version used on Monday night myself.

Its been like that since the end of Monday.

When it comes to the website, ITV can be a bit slow. They have been telling me that Emmerdale's site will be getting a new look soon. They first started telling me that about 5 months ago Rolling Eyes

To me it seems very unprofessional to have the news site down for this long. They really should have had it ready for Monday so when people watched the new look news, they could have then gone to the new look website for more. But nope, people will have gone to BBC news or elsewhere so ITV have done themselves no favours whatsoever

If the voiceover is binned for reasons I cannot predict, I imagine it will be replaced by an opening aston as mocked below? Excuse the presenters, they are no representation of the current team. I think it would work quite well, obviously not as good as the VO but this aston would be better for earlier or shorter bulletins rather than the voice of god!

I think they should get rid of the voiceover, it seems really disjointed and its ridiculous. A simple aston like that would be much better or perhaps it would work better when the opening sequence is over and the reports begin.

I like voiceovers being used on news programmes and ITV have been thinking about re-introducing the voiceover for some time, so I can't see it being binned. However, I would prefer it to be re-recorded by a different male voice. They should have used the bloke who used to do it in the 1990s - I think his surname was Burt.
