Why is there confusion about the NAT trailer? It's always been there. It normally airs just after quarter to ten, at the end of the ad break - of course football coverage shoved the news to 10:10, hence the trailer airing at around 10pm earlier. It looked strange because the trailer started too late, hence Alastair being cut-off mid-sentence.

BTW, the ITV rebrand (including ITV News) is slated for mid-Jan launch. Not sure if that was discussed already.

Thanks for the update. Part of me hopes they'll return to a NAT-style look, clean and professional. You mentioned "rebrand" rather than "refresh" or "realignment". Complete overhaul then, Sky? Can you give us a tiny TVF scoop? Wink Laughing

Afraid not, other than it's being described as a complete overhaul of the on-screen look. Its tied in with News finally going HD (Sep) and the merger of London and Network studio and gallery (Oct).

I'm guessing this means new studio set, new opening titles, graphics, logo and maybe music.

Has anyone heard whether ITV are going to go ahead with an hour long evening news programme incorporating the local news? I know they did a pilot but have not heard anything else.

I think that it has fell through, for example if they were I don't think STV would have launch its edinburgh service...!

If there is a new set, new titles and maybe even music will they be used when the ITV News moves to HD or wait until London Tonight move in beside them ?

Sky Networks has already told us that ITN goes HD from September, the London Tonight changes happen in October, and the rebrand follows sometime in January. It helps to read the thread first...

Was ITV London's Lucrezia on the lunchtime news?

January. Wah.

At least it looks like a complete revamp. ITV News could do with it!

That screenshot looks like someone's turned the air con up a bit too much, everything looks frozen

Guys,

Just to clarify, my understanding is that ITV News (as opposed to ITN) goes HD in Sep. I don't think this necessarily applies to C4N or C5N. Also, Presentation is going HD first (studio, graphics and VR set), with News Gathering (eg: news footage, cameras etc) only going HD at a later date.

Cheers.

Oh god, get Channel 5 into HD first, everything on that is terrible!

Lucrezia only appeared on the mid-morning summary. Alastair presented the LN.
