Is the studio where Mark was the same studio London Tonight have been using for their programmes at 6pm?
And also why didn't both Al and Mark do the whole show from the Olympic park it seems stupid if they are going to have the two presenters separated for the next 2 and half weeks?!

No, London Tonight are in a separate studio. As for the anchoring, I think ITV News would argue that non-Olympic news presented from the Olympic Park is sillier than having two presenters "separated" for the duration. And I'd agree with that.
So what about the 1:30 news and weekend bulletins? Are they going to be double anchored? And the news at 5:30 I suppose, although it would have been nice with the sunrise view at that time in the morning, I thought they might not have the 5:30 news at the Olympic park.

No the news at 5.30 will not, I imagine the lunchtime news will remain in the studio for the majority, there is hardly any staff at the moment anyway to start double anchoring the lunchtime
news.

For anyone INTRESTED, ITV News at 5:30 was anchored from the studio at ITN, with Tom Barton appearing for a bit live from the olympic park. I assume (unless the 1:30 news goes doubled headed) a similar set up will be used at 1:30pm. The 11:25am summary from the main studio at ITN (with Sally Biddulph).

Wow, what a mistake to make! How did someone do that?
Liked Mark's sign off tonight: Goodnight, and, tonight of all nights, thank you for watching.
I think ITV just broadcast last Friday's National Weather forecast, as it was presented by Martyn Davis, with his last ever sign-off.

ITV News is rumoured for a revamp soon, would love it to go to TLS 7 when Daybreak moves out, that right hand side wall could be green, meaning some nice virtual element can stay with the desk on the platform at the windows.
Actually agree would be nice coming from there but it's not as easy as that! Where London go? Channel 5? Channel 4? The newsrooms? It's not really an option.

And ohh that's not good! How did they manage that, people will be going off it when it raining and ITV told them it would be nice! Haha

Just ITV News, there is probably a newsroom in TLS as the old Londont Tonight came from there along with GMTV, meaning there's at least 2 newsrooms. So one could be linked to GIR and used for ITV News at TLS and the rest stay at GIR, or even just a few offices for the presenters and editors etc that would regularly be there?

Oh yes I'm sure they could but knowing nothing about the integral inner workings of the ITN operation I think I'll refrain from commenting/offering the people who do pearls of wisdom.
You?

It was quite amusing! Apparently Martyn recorded his last Meridian forecast today, but Luke Castiglione was presenting the weather so I was quite confused. Seeing Martyn again tonight really put me off course.

I'm sure ITN staffers would be just *delighted* with that sort of arrangement. You may not know that staffers like sound, lighting etc who work for ITN actually staff all the programmes ITN produces, and frequently work long shifts taking in several bulletins. For instance, the sound mixer on the Lunchtime News stays and does London Tonight. The Evening News one does News at Ten. And at weekends they frequently have to mix and match between ITV, C4 and London Tonight, frequently doing up to 12 hour shifts depending on the TV schedules. I wonder how they'd feel about travelling between sites all day long? And if you're suggesting that only the studio could be located elsewhere whilst using GIR's control rooms, then you clearly have no experience of TV. The gallery is the central hub of activity. It needs to be close to the studio, not a drive away
