I like it, it kind of takes me back to the 1980s somehow, unsure why. It is very Channel 4 and I did like the previous view but I thunk this will be ok.
Interesting to oversee how it goes throughout the day.
The only thing I liked was the voice of god. Less said about the rest the better, although they have succeeded in aligning it to the ITV1 look - shame the current ITV1 look is not to my liking.
Please remember that this is only Morning News!! The main directors don't work on that programme and there's no jib camera in use. It was always going to look basic on Morning News, hence why it was a bad idea to launch a new look with it. Don't forget, the Morning and Weekend news bulletins during the previous look only used distant static cameras for opening shots, yet the jib camera brought it to life on the main programmes.
Someone early in the thread mentioned how it would be good for them to include images of the day's news in the titles...well that's exactly what will happen on the main bulletins. Those are only the generic titles.
I'm quite pleased with the new look. The music sounds more fresh and modern but still gives a nod to the old NAT heritage. I think the titles are a good idea and, in my opinion, are implemented just fine. It definitely feels more cohesive with ITV1 now. The male voiceover is a little strange, but it's better than the female version that they were going to use. That sounded weak and made it sound a bit too showbizy. I really do think it will grow on everyone in time.
Is this the first time the bulletins haven't used some sort of version of the News at Ten theme since the mid 90s? It's been a long time, anyway. Good on them for trying something new.

You could argue that this is still an evolution of the NAT theme. The last time a completely different theme was used on an ITV News bulletin was the last day before the big revamp in 1995. At that time, the Lunchtime News and Early Evening News had different music. I agree, it's nice to see them try something a bit different. I think it's a refreshing change.
Without making too much judgement on the first bulletin, or at least the bits I've seen of it, I'm not very impressed. The music is a bit too far away from the previous look's music (although I think the headline bed and bongs are quite nice). The set looks too big. I'm not the biggest fan of VR and would have preferred a real set but I would expect that would cost too much. The titles are a bit lively to say the least.
They can get away with all that but the name straps have got to change. The text is way too big and it's just poorly designed. I understand it's to align with ITV1 but perhaps it would be best to get away from that horrible font.
I like it partially. I like most of it really especially the voiceover. But it looks too dark. The last look was nice and bright but now it looks like they're sat in a big empty black room.
Opening titles aren't great either. Though at least they have some I suppose instead of a zoom. Astons look big and cheap also.
Overall it's ok but not great. But compared to what they had with News at Ten... it's crap.
P.S. What's with the random yellow square on the front of the desk?

I agree, I nearly fell off the sofa when the first one burst onto my TV! They've obviously been designed for the visually-impaired.
The set looks quite nice, if you like a completely false environment. I hope it looks a little lighter for the Lunchtime News, or it will just look as though they are presenting the news from an underground nuclear bunker!
The music is quite nice, and I like the title sequence.
