Not 100% confirmed, but provisional schedules suggest on Friday 27th November the News at Ten will be pushed back to 10.30pm to make way for I'm a Celeb. Ironically though as the bulletin usually does better during I'm a Celebrity, it'll probably rate higher than usual Friday editions.

Unnecessary IMO - if the show can't air 8.30-10pm I see no harm in a late 10.35pm edition on a Friday night - I'm sure it would comfortably beat Jonathan Ross, and not what News at Ten needs at the moment.

If there is a 'big 4', I'd say they are London, Central, Granada & Yorkshire.

Looks like News At Ten is going in the same way as before yet again.

ITV News's content has really improved over the past 2 years, now its going back down the tabloid style content yet again.

Also, there seems to be too much graphics like it was in 2004 again. Katie Derham look confused on the News At 1.30 trying to keep up with all the camera angles.

ITV News just found its feet again, then they rip it up and mess it up again.

Also, there seems to be too much graphics like it was in 2004 again. Katie Derham look confused on the News At 1.30 trying to keep up with all the camera angles.

Katie hit her marks perfectly and knew exactly where the live camera was on all but one occasion when, following the interview with Honor Blackman, she looked up from her notes and was a fraction off, so had to turn her head slightly to the right. At no point did she look in the slightest bit confused and there wasn't anything to suggest a problem with the number of camera angles or tracking shots. Rolling Eyes

Actually, it was great to finally see Katie with the new set, and I loved the way she apologised for the pun in the last item about the forklift truck driver. (I'll forgive the set anything as long as they continue to have Katie reading the news.)

Absolutely pathetic if ITV are going to go back to four nights at ten and one night "any time after ten". I've a bad feeling we're back in 2001 with the whole "News at When?" scenario. Just hoping they'll do what they did with Britain's Got Talent - give it an 20:30 - 22:00 time slot.

I thought ITV News were back on track and I felt that they had rediscovered their winning formula, even if the ratings didn't agree all that often - and now I'm feeling that they're back-tracking. They're putting too much focus on human interest stories. The ending to tonight's News at 6.30 was unashamedly tabloid IMO, with the images of the poppies in the background and the "We will remember them. Good night." They've said similar things before to close the bulletins but it never seemed this tacky in the past. I'm sure it was well-meant but it's pandering the stereotype a bit, isn't it?

I don't know why they've gone back to 2007... things were going so well for most of this year, content-wise; they had the balance just right after what seemed like a rocky few years being criticised from all angles - not as fluffy as 5 News from 1997 but not too dour either like much BBC News coverage. I really thought they'd shaken off the last of that tabloid essence which dogged them for so long.

The over-emphasis on "human interest"... the return to sensational words... the reintroduction of weird and wonderful story names in the headline sequence... the generic-isation of News at Ten... I'm beginning to think parts of this revamp are huge steps backward. Criticise me all you want, but that's my feeling so far (yes I know we're only three days in). That said, I'm willing to sit back and watch how things pan out over the coming weeks and months. Will be a huge shame if they've returned to their "bad" ways.

No, think you'll find Anglia is bigger than Yorkshire. I know that Anglia will be one of the first.

Your actually quite right, ITV need to get anyway for tabloid news, and start more frontline reporting and journalism

Like I said, I had an email from the Head of News at Calendar, telling me that there will be changes to the programme in early December.

Very true, ITV News had the balance right until last week, all of the bulletins had their own voice and you knew what to expect and for me I highly regarded News At Ten for being one of the best News bulletins on TV, due to it's editorial concept and it's presentation, it felt very high quality ITN, without being trounced with ITV News from all over.

I'll still watch News At Ten, but it doesn't feel and look right at all, just feels like ITV News have given up or taken a step back to save a few quid.

If I want human interest I'll be a crappy women's glossy magazine or watch something like Five News, but it shouldn't be like that from ITV News.

I wonder what Michael Grade thinks, as it was him who ordered the return of News At Ten and the return of everything associated with it, and it's own identity from the rest of ITV News.
