I believe the voiceover cock-up in question isn't the Voice of God announcing the names but an unintended broadcast of someone (presumably the CA) uttering "Bloody hell" over Mark Austin at the very beginning.

To my ears it sounded like the ITV1 CA uttering "bloody hell" (or something like that). This was after the ident had ended and whilst Mark was onscreen, but just before the Big Ben chime.

EDIT: beaten to it. A hot topic tonight, it seems!

Aha, thanks for clearing that up. I thought it would be strange that it was an ITN error as, like I said, they generally pre-record the headlines.

To give it some context, the CA slightly messed up the announcement before the news.

She said "The case of Hell's Angel Jerry Tobin, who was murdered by a rival motorcycle gang. In 2007, is the subject of Real Crime, after the news"

Notice the full stop after the word 'gang'. Her mistake, not mine.

Had to record 'I'm a Celeb' last night and caught the opening of NaT. I think that they have actually!

Pity they never remembered to reinstate their web address at the bottom of the credits at the same time. Rolling Eyes

(They removed the web address in early 2009 while their website was undergoing a revamp and, obviously, it never occurred to them to put it back. Has it really escaped everybody's notice for the last two and a half years? Including those at ITV News?!)

I'm fine and think it's a good idea to put hashtags on other programmes, but I'm not so sure about putting them on the news.

I think its ok to but it for each individual correspondent, maybe not as the programme as a whole though.

After that ending, that is why I live ITV News at Ten, rounding up a day of developments with some humour too.
