It's hard to do that when the regions titles were made for nothing, on the cheap, by a member of random technical crew at ITV Central in Birmingham!

I don't understand the dislike for the current ITV News look, I think it's really good. It's consistent, and the set looks impressive - the only real issue I have is the content, and even that isn't as bad as it was in the teal era.

I think now maybe reasons why In September/October Mary was on the ITV News less was probably down to her Best Britain's dish show recordings.

The current Regional News theme is like a edit of the last ITV News/News At Ten theme.

Anyone know if there is any work going on at the studio today? News summary had titles with ITV News logo at the end and the titles did not wipe to show studio wide shot.

I don't understand it either. It ties in very well with the ITV1 look, the only problems that the studio seems to have are with those yellow panels on the front of the desk. Even the regional news ties in well, though the music could be updated for the regionals to bring it in line. I'd say it was more ITV Weather that needed the work, especially as they're still carrying the pre 2006 blue with yellow straps and symbols. As much as people don't seem to like the daybreak weather graphics, I think they look a lot fresher compared to the main ITV look. Wasn't it mentioned last year somewhere on here about a new weather look that hasn't materialised?

As for the news summary today, it did look odd, but was nice to see a longer ITV News animation. Am I right in saying that the long shots are recorded prior to the bulletin? Maybe there wasn't time to record them, or maybe they're working on the studio for another prerecord?

It could be that they are working on another studio.

As regards to new weather, they seem to have been using a more "digital rain" shot like that on sky and bbc recently. With a brand new weather site coming next year maybe we could see an update to things then. I agree completely that they are in dire need of a revamp.

Interesting that the ITV news today held it's bulletin over the 2 minutes silence, went to Whitehall at eleven right up until the end of the bulletin.

Easiest way to cover the 2 minutes slience without having a separate programme. Five did a similar thing on Friday
