News channel isn't viable for them. I don't think it's a bug as such, I think its when people delete their posts but the thread continues to tick over as though them posts are still there.
Forget a news channel - a few updates on twitter will suffice then.
BTW, anyone else keep getting the last page of this thread blank. I think it's a common bug when threads get over a certain size, so mods perhaps time to start the thread afresh?

Yeah but you seem to get this bug for weeks on end! Strange!
Bit vague "24 hour online service" - isn't that just a normal website really???

Yeah, I'm not 100% but isn't most of the website automated to an extent anyway? Slightly different, but GMTV's wesbite was still being updated automatically from one of the news agencies weeks after Daybreak had replaced it.
I imagine it means the website will be fully staffed and updated 24 hours a day, not just during the day.

A little more info. Weather and Sport also getting a revamp it seems.
Looking at some of Made By Many's other projects they look quite good. Hopefuly ITV News's end product will be just as good.
Also perhaps it's just me jumping the gun a bit, but does anyone think that this could suggest a wider range of changes for ITV News - onscreen perhaps, just for me at least the pharse "across broadcast..." suggests this?? What does everyone else think?

We’re delighted to join ITV in announcing that we will be working together to define a new (and radically different) news, sport and weather proposition for online and on demand.
We’ve been working with Robin Pembrooke’s online team at ITV since November and have hugely enjoyed collaborating with such an intelligent and committed bunch of people. The news, sport and weather project is a fantastic opportunity to create a truly digitally native news service that plays across broadcast, web, mobile and connected TV.
We’ll tell you more when we can, in the meantime here’s the official press release and a shot from the ITV News studio gallery:
ITV today announced that, following a competitive pitch process, digital specialists Made by Many have been appointed to help define, design and develop ITV’s News, Sport and Weather proposition online and on demand.
Made by Many will partner with the News and Sports teams from across the business to devise and implement a new digital proposition for ITV News, Sport and Weather, as part of the company’s ongoing News Review.
Julian March, Head of Digital Media, ITV News & Sport said: "This is a hugely exciting project and it's great to have Made By Many on board with us."

Finally, Geraint Vincent on the news Desk. It's been a long time, shame he doesn't do relief cover during the week anymore, despite his reporting skills being improved significantly in recent months.

Seemed like he just could't be bothered. Looked like he didn't want to be there...

Nope, he did a few bulletins in late-2009 and early 2010.
I think today is Geraint's first time reading the news since the 2009 Revamp???

Great to see him back in the studio
I don't know why they don't use him as much as they used to. He's an excellent newscaster and one of the few young talents ITV have surley they could entrust him with a relief presenter role with News at 10 he's done every other national and anchored it on location 'in the big freeze.'
He used to be on as much as Mark when he was Deputy on the then Evening News.

Why the praise for Geraint's newscasting skills...?
He is definitely a top reporter, but always seems uneasy and uncomfortable when reading the news - and he is certainly not an example of a "young talent" in that respect. I think ITN realised this too, hence his disappearance from relief presenting (until now). I'd rather he stuck to what he is genuinely talented at - his reporting.
Daisy McAndrew is another one who seems quite wooden in the studio as well.
Anyway... this isn't a rota thread so I'll shut up!
