The opening titles are absolutely dreadful and is like a bad mock.

That's a great way of putting it ... but it's sadly very true. And you're absolutely right - a decent set of opening titles needn't be an expensive exercise. But I cringe every time I see the current set.

It has been good to see Andrea Benfield

My goodness, are you serious? She's like a robot, a Stepford Wife newsreader. She has no emotion, no credibility, no expression.
She looks a bit like a blow-up version of Katy Derham.

I have to say I love Andrea, she is a fantastic newsreader with warmth and charisma. Much prefer her to Nina or Romilly.

I can't agree, I'm afraid. I find all of the current ITV female newscasters - with possibly the exception of Julie Etchingham - very cold and distant with little charisma and no emotion. Compare them to the late Carol Barnes, who exuded warmth by the bucket-load but remained totally professional, and you'll see what I mean. They're not in the same league.

It's called botox! Laughing

I would disagree though with you about Mary Nightingale at least - though I've never really been a fan of Nina HOssain, but I wouldn't say she is cold and emotionless. Indeed seems ITV can't win either way - one minute they're criticised for being over emotional in their style, the next for presenters showing no emotion.

Just heard an advert for calendar tonight at 6 featuring Christine Talbot and Duncan Wood. Do any other local stations broadcast ITV regional news ads?

On TV, Anglia's only promos are the 'Join us in half an hour for Anglia Tonight', and the 'Next here on ITV, it's Anglia Tonight'. Nothing besides these air.

On Radio, there are no promos for any form of Anglia News,

I think the OP is talking about promos on local radio.

I wondered that, but went down the TV promo route instead. Shall change my post to include this,

Really dodgy awful graphics on News at Ten tonight - and tacky with it. Like they can't be bloody bothered knocking together some nice-looking text and images. Anyone else see that "Day Today"-style graphic showing the situation Libya on Wednesday night? Talk about new lows.

I think we've run out of things to talk about. Wink Nonetheless, all these points stand...

I do think some of the criticism may be getting a little OTT here. It was a pretty good NAT last night IMO: plenty of foreign news, plenty of serious coverage, some good new information on British policy in Libya that the BBC did not seem to have (I didn't see Sky). Of course there are things many of us don't like about ITV news at the moment, but to describe yesterday as a 'new low' seems to me to be way off the mark.
