Last Night on ITV News at 10 , Mary introduced a european affairs story and said that Martin Gysler is europe reporter the 2nd change in the international team but no news on John Ray or Robert moore.

Rohit was also in the US Last night.

My idea is maybe James Mates may get a post in the political team with Bill N moving to his role and john or robert becoming international editor.

John Ray is moving to the middle east, Robert Moore back to Washington. The rest, I fear, is fantasy...

Where did you get this info from?

John Ray moving isn't a surprise, as I'm sure fairly recently his been in Afghnaistan.

Robert Moore was always good in the US.

So where does this leave:
- Julian Manyon
- John Irvine
- Europe Correspondent

One of them doesn't necessarily have to leave - someone else might be leaving which has made their post vacant and therefore necessitated a replacement.

There may even be a new post like defence correspondent or something which one of them could take.
Also no Mark or Julie for two weeks.

It is probably something as simple as (and I'm guessing here) Julian Manyon retiring.

It is the summer holidays. As you well know.

You can't have been watching very well this past month, then. Alastair Stewart and Mary Nightingale both have been absent for some weeks this month - on summer holiday, one would presume - and now it's the turn of Mark and Julie. You'll get your four-newscasters-in-one-day when the holidays are over.

And it's been well noted on this thread and elsewhere that Alastair is (ostensibly) more than happy to put in however many hours the bosses wish him to.
