Oh dear. First it was a giant seagull newsreader attack in Melbourne, now giant babies attack at ITN. Enormous case of no-style over substance. For the last time, people don't buy fake sets. It screams fake, fake but "oh the news is real". It doesn't work. They've realigned the brand alright, to a more confused and clumsy one. The set looks like a fake underground car park in a computer game. ("Honey, I thought the news was on!"). A gorgeous, simpler, smaller set made of real elements would have worked well.
Promoting the human element in a crowded field may be a smart move. They
cannot
claim any distinction of being first or fast (Hello, their news is at 1:30, 6:30 and 10 only, pretty much). But the "we are news for dumb people" branding is a mistake. They could done it more effectively (and clearer).
The only thing I like about it, funnily enough, are the supers.
