Going back to relatively un-geeky and un-stalkerish matters, I do wish ITV News had stuck with the plain yellow logo as the bodge job with the updated version still looks pretty awful.

Why do TV companies always seem to end up doing this - revamp something which relies heavily on the channel branding such as the news then a few months down the line decide to change said channel branding!

I don't think there was any need to change the (ITV News) logo really. Ask any viewer and the chance of them noticing the logo had changed, even when you showed them both versions, is probably almost nil.

Although I guess you could say 'why not update it', they could easily have waited until the next refresh (by that I mean new titles or something similar) rather than the logo being the only change.

Obviously not that long. I saw her on the Morning News last week and they didn't have a voiceover for her; they just used the generic one.

Didn't hear, only had the summary, which I uploaded

I don't think they have one for the newly named 'Alexandra Hill' yet either. It was generic one on Sat. morning

I guess they maybe temporary until Faye Barker returns, in which case recording a voice over might not be felt to be worthwhile

That's right, 'Alexandra Hill' hasn't been recorded by James Faulkner yet. The current policy is to play the generic voiceover on any bulletin she presents.

I agree completely. I would have preferred them to keep using the plain yellow logo and then have a 'refresh' of sorts later on, maybe September-time (coinciding with the changes at breakfast time), which could enable ITV/ITN to get rid of the poor aspects of the current look while implementing the newer version of the logo.

Let's face it: putting the revised logo onto the current look has made an already poor on-screen branding appear even poorer than before.

Why to coincide with the new breakfast show? ITV News has nothing to do with Daybreak, except it may produce the news, but its expected to be ITN. I don't know why everyone is linking Daybreak to ITV News!
