Not sure if this has been posted earlier, but here's the new email signature featuring Nina Hossain (released today):

The same photo is also live on the London Tonight website now (although the national news site has yet to be updated).

What is going on behind Mark and Julie? Some sort of black shadowy object behind them. Also, we don't know if Nina will be taking over Katie's lunchtime bulletins or if she's been promoted to a "face" of ITV News, while becoming a regular Sunday presenter?

Then again, the stories of her 'continuing on on the national news" may simply be because they only call the lunchtime bulletins "ITV News".

I think the photo's a bit messed up - because it's the same photo of Julie currently on the website now ( I think)but Julie has a black Jacket on the current one and in that she has a red one on - even though it's the same photo.

I would imagine that the limitations of the current colour scheme lead to the background looking "messed up". All the ideas invented for the revamp were very good ones, just very badly executed.

Julie's jacket was red in the original publicity shots but, for some reason, re-coloured black for the website banner.

Interesting to see the addition of Nina Hossain where Katie Derham formerly was. I wonder whether Nina will become the new "other" 1:30pm newscaster or whether they'll now rotate between three or more: Alastair Stewart, James Mates, Geraint Vincent (God forbid Wink ), etc. I think I'd prefer the former in which Nina is the role previously held by Katie: that is to say, having two regular faces for the lunchtime bulletin rotating in the presenter's chair rather than ITN doing a BBC and have a sizable list of many fronting it. That's not the traditional ITV way of doing things... they've always had regular "faces" for each news programme. NAT = Trevor, Early Evening News = John Suchet, etc.

yeah I did google earlier it and noticed that the original long shot of the main 5 had Julie in red - you'd think they would have just got her to put on a black jacket rather than re-coulor it! Laughing

I suspect they're waiting to see what happens with the GMTV replacement before making any decision on the Lunchtime News as we could see the breakfast presenter putting in a few shifts at lunchtime too if as expected ITN take over the news output in the mornings.

I notice that the football has caused the news to be shortened by five minutes and delayed to a quarter to midnight - ridiculous really, considering that the programme preceding it, "ITV's Best Ever Ads 2", is an old repeat. Surely the news could have been brought forward to 10:45pm and the repeat transmitted at 11pm? Then again this is ITV we are talking about, and common sense rarely prevails.

Stupid really! Best Ever Ads 2 is only really there for a filler - so should be have precdent over the news. imo 11:45 is way to late. Really it shouldn't go out after 11:30.

Isn't their a Ofcom requirement that ensures it cant go out too late? Or is 11:45 that time?

They used to have to begin it by 11.15pm, but that was dropped a couple of years ago when ITV quite routinely began airing the Saturday bulletins around 4.30pm and 11.45pm.

IMO ITV's best option tonight would have been to dropped the ads show completely and ran James Corden through to 11pm, then get back on schedule.

Agree with most of the comments above re bringing the late news forward (and I'm sure that would have been the preference at ITN). But ultimately its a scheduling decision taken by the powers-that-be at ITV.

Why would they go through all the hassle and expense of a separate photo shoot for a presenter they've already photographed but with a different jacket when they can simply recolour it in seconds?

I wouldn't be surprised if and when Nina is added to the National site banner, that her jacket will be coloured in black aswell to keep inline with the black and yellow colour scheme. Wink

no what I'm saying is that when they did the photo shoot they must of known they wanted a black jacket for the website.

Who's to say that it was specifically for the website?
