Sense has prevailed at ITV headquarters - "The Budget - An ITV News Special" will air from as usual 12:15pm to 1:30pm on Tuesday afternoon, followed by the lunchtime news bulletin until 2pm.

(Why not list the Budget as running until 2pm - that is what normally happens: there's never been any apparent programme 'change' at 1:30pm.)

And returning to the subject of the current look, I think the desk/platform is quite nice. Just a shame about the surroundings, including the 'floor', which look - ironically - more cold than before. Music is much, much nicer than anything used since the 1990s, save for NAT 2008.

I do agree on you last point the desk is a nice change from the same one we had for about 5 years! And quite clever to have it the shaped where it seems the 2 presenters are together in one shot and then can alos be separate in the one presnter shots.

On the floor - I think I remember someone describing it as a car park!

The music was an improvement on the ITV News previous music, just as you say not on NAT!

Why should the world cup after party take priority over news at ten?

suppose there've got to have a fair amount of post match chat and James Corden's WCL is on after every evening game, btter for itv to have that on than half the people turn of for NAT - it's just that England's post match chat is longer. Also it's a Friday, so it's not seen as bad.
To be fair it's only been mved once so fair this world cup. It's been moved before for England Qualifiers, so of course for an England World Cup game and subsequent football type show, it's fair enough to move it.

Didn't see it, but sounds like a nice touch. Was this definitely the endcap though, or the ITV1 breakbumper (which also says 'Come on England') ?

Let's hope the "Come on England" bumpers aren't airing in Wales...

yeah it was the red ITN endcap with "Come on England" also written in red. Like you say little touches like this are important.

I thought they were better than I expected.
