Now that's what I call a late bulletin lol

what happened?

A good 20 minutes long, about 6 reports and 1 live with Steve Scott. Enough time as well to have a smooth sign off and not a rushed one.

oh ok! Sometimes they only literally have about 3 reports! Laughing

I expect they might be a bit longer because of the World Cup some EN bulletins are shorter in the coming weeks.

I know its rather annoying, I wish they were more consistent.

Is it me or have the in-report graphics gone somewhat more downhill as of this evening?

It would be interesting to see whether anybody on the forum actually likes - or can actually stomach - the current branding of news programmes on ITV, considering we are now over seven months into it and a few (including myself, of course) are still not all that content with it. What would you change about ITV News at present?

Everything. Except I'd keep Katie Derham. New Studio. New Graphics. New journalistic standards. New Editor. I think the only thing (other than Katie Derham and Alistair Stewart, who despite working for a sloppy news organisation are good broadcasters and journalists) I do like is the music, which has slowly grown on me over the past few months. But going back to your question about graphics, I wouldn't keep anything. NaT was classy. This isn't.

The music and the studio have grown on me, but I don't watch ITV News as much I used to. If I had it my way then I was more than satisfied the way we had it this time last year, and no-one give me this London-centric b*llocks, I live 200 miles away from London, but I liked the way ITV News looked, it looked decent, especially NaT which certainately came into its own, especially since Trevor's departure, it was a decent bulletin, decent enough to give the BBC a run for its money, something I suspect many commentators would agree on.

That time of the month again is it.

Evidently so, Brekkie. I can't believe you don't agree that ITV News was at it's editorial best at this time last year? The only positives to come out of the rebrand: the music (a much needed refresh) and the removal of the tired, tired 2006 generic look. But, judging from the response on the forum, the negatives outweigh the positives. For example - the re-introduction of the so-called "human interest" crap and the essential loss of News at Ten, naming just two.

Are we on the forum alone - judging from the decrease in ratings (for NAT) since November, then no, we are not. Compare to 2009 when it was averaging 3m, often going higher than that. It's lucky to reach 2.5m these days.

I actually thought the Evening News close was quite fitting actually. Very simple, but quite powerful in fact.

Yeah I agree, was only joking in my post above.

Obvioulsy the word "innocent" is quite powerful in the circumstances.

Also unusual to have a break in NAT!
