Yes, but she wasn't standing there for that long. It was just that we were left with the last frame for ages. Look, you can see that the rain stops.

yeah , sorry didn't know weather or not it was the video not going off or if it was frozen , obvioulsy now i've seen it agin it's the latter - was looking at it throught the top 1/4 of the EPG! Laughing

Bumper News At Ten Rating Next Week... It must be BGT Semi-finals again Very Happy

quite right! NAT gets one of the biggest lead in's possible!
IIRC it had around 6m last year.
No doubt we can expect some more "Girl forgets her words live on BGT", ...and finally stories.
And no doubt trailed straight after BGT's credit's. Laughing

Off topic for a bit - found this article from last Tuesday's Telegraph: Tom Bradby tipped as Nick Robinson's successor at BBC

That's my bugbear as well. On the ITV graphic, the "Live" text is smaller in size than the "News" of the logo and the location name and thus looks a bit cheap. How hard is it for graphic designers to align text properly? Comes across as unprofessional.[/quote]

Jon Sopel would be a very good choice in my opinion, but by now is probably a little overqualified. Given James Landale was made deputy political editor I'd not be surprised if they were grooming him for the role - his appearances leading political coverage on the Six in particular have become more prominent since his promotion. Give it a few years and I can see Laura Kuenssberg going on to even greater things too!

Tom Bradbury, as best as I can see, is a waste of space when compared to the likes of Marr, Robinson, Landale or even Bolton. He just seems like a lightweight to me. I'm happy for him to prove me wrong, but I doubt he will.

You are so right. Bradby moving to the BBC could be the best thing that ever happened to ITV News - shifting their weakest link direct to their rival. 'Lightweight' doesn't bein to do justice to his reporting...

Doesn't say much for tbe BBC's strength in depth if they feel like they need to keep poaching political editors.

Chris Ship would be a contender to take over I'd imagine - he took on the Tom Brady role in the daytime election coverage and was much better at it.

The BBC has enough people within their organisation without trying to poach someone from ITV, particularly Tom Bradby.

I think it may have been mentioned before, but what is the font that itv news use in their graphics and the 'news' part of the logo?

ITV have their own font which they do not allow to be used without permission.

In fact I was thinking that James Mates would make a fantastic political editor. He has a hell of a lot more authority than Tom Bradby and really shone throughout ITV's election coverage.

It is a font created specially for them. It is not commercially available but people on here before have suggested fonts like Calibri and Myriad as suitable enough.

Not really surprising. But for some reason I think Kate Garraway would be a better choice. Not really sure why as I'm not a Kate fan but she some how seems more suitable.
