UTV showed a strap on screen about 20 minutes ago saying that UTV Live would be available to watch online at www.u.tv from 7:30pm. They must have recorded the whole programme as usual.

EDIT: Just had a look and its actually just the pre-recorded reports that they've uploaded with no links in between them!

I was impressed with ITV News' special coverage, but perhaps it would have been better for Alastair and Mary to throw back to Mark in the studio for the "other news" in the 6:30pm portion of the programme. Anyway I imagine there'll be several cuts to Westminster this evening on ITV1, if not a full scale handover of the primetime schedule to ITN.



No. I think she is remaining as the producer of the sports output, but I don't know if she will continue to appear as a reporter alongside Steve Scott (the new Sports Editor).

I don't think so I would imagine for the world cup Steve Scott has been employed to help cover the event.


Also when yesterday's EPG changed to showing regional news at 6:50 they DID intend to air it.

Right decision IMO. It can wait till 7.30pm - I'd expect an update then, maybe even pull Childrens Hospital if there is enough material to pad out 30 mins.

Not since Thatcher left has this happened. ITV should have cut straight to the statement. It's shambolic for them to have run a 2 hour special from 5-7 and then stuck with a soap opera for the most important statement in decades.

People will stick with the BBC all evening! Those turning in for Eastenders will also stick with the BBC's coverage. They've screwed up big time here. Inheriting the Emmerdale audience would have been ideal to garner an audience.
